Happiness is.............

Do you remember those really twee cartoons of two cupids that appeared in the paper years ago with sickly sweet sayings such as Happiness is ..............looking lovingly into each others eyes.
They meant nothing to me at the time as happiness to me was a Caramac, a packet of Pacers and long sunny days on my bike.

Now I'm a bit older (just a bit..) I realise happiness is a state of mind nothing to do with Caramacs and Pacers and sometimes it takes a little more work than others.

There has been lots of scientific research into happiness which is very well summarised in this book You Can Be Happy
When I read it I realised happiness isn't complicated either. Interaction with others and finding things you enjoy doing are key components and are some of the reasons I'm very pleased to be taking part in The Happiness Festival
Groups of creative people are giving their time for free so others can nurture or rediscover their creativity for free and that makes everyone happy.
The Happiness Festival has arts, crafts and wellbeing classes and sessions on for free throughout April and we're launching the fun with a Mad HattersTea Party at Resonate Arts House, Alloa from 2-4pm on Sunday 1st April. There will be prizes for the maddest hat worn on the day, upcycling of teapots and teacups, papercrafts,Alice in Wonderland inspired jewellery, Flamingo Lake lots of fun and games and tea and cakes of course.
You'll find the full programme at The Happiness Festival with details of all classes and how to book. Maybe we'll see you there.........
